A prominent, primarily men’s golf club desired to update to a more transitional style while retaining the deep-rooted traditional feel of the club the members have embraced over the years. A lighter overall color palette was introduced throughout the renovated spaces along with accents of cognac-colored leather and deeper tones in the furniture finishes and wallcoverings. The centerpiece of the lobby is a wall fountain emblazoned with the club logo etched in glass. Surrounding the water feature are multi-faceted, iridescent glass tiles in black, brown and gold. The floor leading up to the fountain is natural travertine outlined with black porcelain and cross cut onyx inlaid tiles.
The dining room was completely reconfigured, combining two separate areas into one magnificent space. Coffered ceilings with custom designed oversized light fixtures create a cohesive warmly lit room primed for casual gatherings or formal events. Classic furnishings complement the newly appointed environment along with custom designed carpeting, millwork, sconce lighting and wallcovering all of which combine to create an updated, elegant look. Incorporating the beauty of golf vistas into the space, photographs of the Club’s course were digitally abstracted in a watercolor effect to make stunning canvas wall art.
The pro shop was beautifully updated with a lighter color palette applied to the display furniture while antique golf clubs support the awning-like window treatments. To appeal to the women of the club, their locker room was completely re-designed to include a blow dry bar. Soft colors coordinating with the lobby beyond were incorporated in mosaic tile and wallcovering materials. A built-in bench encourages conversation among the members after golf.
Equally important to the interior update was the expanded outside patio, which now wraps around the entire back of the building. A striking black and taupe awning coordinates with new lounge and dining area furnishings. Clubby comfort pervades every space, meeting all expectations.
